AGTLAND was founded by A. Grant Thornbrough in 1975 with a design philosophy dedicated to solutions that are created in harmony with current trends in community planning and sustainable design while respecting the natural landscape.

Carol Borough Perez

Carol attended University of Florida and is a Florida registered landscape architect and member of ASLA. Her career expands over 30 years, and in 2019 Carol became lead Principal and owner of AGTLAND, P. A., formerly A. Grant Thornbrough & Associates. She exemplifies the firm’s philosophy through meticulous attention to detail and exceptional design concepts.

Carol’s extensive experience includes site plan approval processing, commercial, mixed-use development, city and community redevelopment projects, parks and recreation, as well as campus design for Lynn University and North Broward Prep School. Her residential design work includes “Lisa’s Garden,” a Delray Beach garden added to the Smithsonian Institution’s Archives of American Gardens as part of the Garden Club of America Collection.

Ms. Perez served on the City of Delray Beach Site Plan Review and Appearance Board from 2019 to 2023. AGTLAND is a State of Florida Certified Woman Business.

Grant Thornbrough

Grant established his highly respected and innovative planning and design practice, A. Grant Thornbrough & Associates, in 1975. The firm has been recognized with 80 award winning projects on the local, state, and regional levels.

Grant’s honors include Landscape Architect of the Year awarded by the American Institute of Architects. In 2004, the Boca Raton Historical Society acknowledged Grant as a “Legend” whose contributions acted as a catalyst for major positive change in the growth of the city.

Mr. Thornbrough is former Chairman of the Boca Raton Community Appearance Board, serving as a member for 34 years. He served on the City of Boca Raton A1A Landscape Task Force and on the Boca Raton Community Redevelopment Agency Advisory Committee, as well as the West Atlantic Avenue Architectural Review Board in Delray Beach.
